Country Background

China is a country of great diversity – from the smothering heat of Hong Kong and Shanghai, the cooler climate of Beijing, all the way to the frost covered villages and cities deeper inland. China is the most populous country in the world, with over 1.3 billion people. It is also the third largest country in the world, following Russia and Canada. It borders 14 different countries, and from the beginning of the 21st century, it is well on its way to become the world's leading economic force.

Huge cities are scattered all over China, and multimillion megalopolises foreigners have never even heard of are very common. Energy production and heavy industry has long been a staple of China's economy, but recently China has seen exponential growth of private entrepreneurship ventures.

It is a well connected nation, with an efficient road, train and airplane system. It will soon be possible to travel the distance from Hong Kong to Beijing in under 8 hours.

Lifestyle

Whether one likes the hustle and bustle of large cities, or the peace and tranquility of small, rural villages, China can accommodate anyone willing to live there. It is an amazing country to live in, and anyone who has done it will be willing to confirm that statement.
China is loud, hot, and a bit overwhelming to a foreigner at first sight. But, as with all Asian countries, as the short period of adaptation passes, people usually grow to love their countries of choice. You will find something that can never be palpably felt in the West, and you will learn to love Asia because of it.  What is that? Walk around Hong Kong, Shanghai or Beijing for a while, and you will assuredly find out.

Whatever your likes or preferences may be, China will not leave you wanting. From sports, amazing food, dynamic and never ending nightlife, beautiful cities, forests and beaches, and the sheer feeling of that Asian atmosphere during the night will be more than enough to pin you down for a long time.

Education

Chinese schools have long been considered the most rigorous educational institutions in the world, which resulted in Chinese students being, on average, almost 30% better than their Western counterparts in standardized math and language tests. All EFL Teachers equipped with the knowledge provided by ESL Certified have had no major issues with settling in, adapting and getting used to such a new, dynamic environment as China offers.
